Positive Authentication Credentials

In addition to CypherText, StrataVista is also proud to introduce our PACred Positive Authentication Credential system. This deceptively simple technology is used to verify the identity of every Condor operator when they log in to the app. It also validates the Sender and Recipient of any Condor message or document.

PACred is based on the principle that each of us has certain "deep field" memories from our childhood that only we would know. These specific items are stored in a coded string called a PACred ID, unique to each person, which allows Condor to use them as 'friend or foe' challenge questions at log in and as a validation key when you receive a Condor message or coded document.

When a new Condor operator initially sets up their Condor and enters the answers to their own selected 'deep field' questions, those answers are coded as CypherText and never again decoded, for any reason. In other words, the answers are not available to anyone except the Condor software itself. So, when you are challenged at log in for, as an example, "Where Did You Learn To Ride A Bike?" and you type in your answer, Condor codes the word you just typed and compares the coded version of your reply against the coded version of the answer you have stored in your PACred ID. If both coded words match, you gave the right answer.

There is more to it than that, but for now, suffice it to say that PACred is a solid method of authenticating someone's identity. It has back up contingencies in case an Operator is coerced and compromised. It could also be used as a validation technique for premises access or machine, computer or weapons systems authentication.
